The Life of the Desert
The Life of the Desert focuses on the lives of 30 critically endangered species of the Great Basin. Presented as digital illustrations, hand-bound books, sculptural installations and more, the project in its many iterations serves to highlight the individual importance of each life included in the work.
Focus subjects for the project were sourced from the Nevada Division of Natural Heritage (NDNH) At-Risk Plant and Animal Tracking List. The Nevada Division of Natural Heritage (NDNH) systematically curates information on Nevada's endangered, threatened, sensitive, rare, and at-risk plants and animals providing the most comprehensive source of information on Nevada’s imperiled biodiversity.
